Beyond merit: recruiting for a culture of inclusion
In 2017, Christina received a Westpac Social Change Fellowship to examine diversity structures used in Australia with a view to applying them to improving disability leadership, while also establishing the Disability Leadership Institute. The DLI is the only leadership organisation which is owned and run by disabled people and which focusses exclusively on disability leadership.
Prior to establishing the DLI, Christina had an extensive career in the non-profit sector in both executive management and as a board member, including chairing a national peak organisation. She has also broken ground at the United Nations, changing how the UN includes women with disabilities in mainstream fora. She is a recognised expert on violence against women with disabilities as well as her more recent work on disability leadership.
