Does your organisation have great volunteers?
Chances are, if you have an innovative, successful or just plain amazing group of volunteers in your organisation, you’ve probably also got some excellent volunteer managers.
So, if you’re based in New South Wales why not recognise your organisation’s volunteer management achievements by nominating for a NSW Excellence in Volunteer Management award?
Part of a larger awards program launched in 2007 by the Centre for Volunteering in NSW, the “Excellence in Volunteer Management Award” aims to highlight this sometimes under-acknowledged management aspect of volunteering.
Nominations for this award category are open to NSW not-for-profit organisations until October 31st and to be considered for an award you will need to complete the online form. To write a great application, start thinking now about:
- The input volunteers have into your organisation
- How you recruit and train your volunteers
- How you recognise the contribution volunteers make
You’ll also need to include two references from people outside your organisation, and a letter of support from a community leader, so make sure you don’t leave contacting potential referees to the last minute!
Winners will be announced at the NSW Volunteer of the Year Award Ceremony in Sydney on 5 December.
